These evidence-based guidelines are regularly updated to incorporate the latest scientific research and provide recommendations on tests, treatments, and medications. Transitioning oversight of these guidelines to another agency within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) raises concerns about potential changes that could undermine their scientific integrity. Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s controversial views questioning the link between HIV and AIDS, as well as his dismissal of HIV research grants and the closure of offices coordinating the federal response to HIV, signal a concerning departure from established medical consensus. This jeopardizes the quality of care for HIV patients and undermines public health efforts to combat the epidemic. The HIV guidelines serve as a global reference for healthcare providers and play a vital role in ensuring access to appropriate, evidence-based care for people living with HIV. Compromising these guidelines would be a disservice to the medical community and patients alike. I urge you to ensure that any transition of the HIV guidelines maintains their scientific rigor, is driven by current research, and prioritizes the well-being of those affected by HIV/AIDS. Decisions concerning public health must be grounded in facts, not ideological agendas that disregard scientific evidence. It is blatantly clear that RFK, Jr. lacks the discernment and medical expertise to do his job properly. Please encourage this resignation.
