No Pentagon reconciliation + justice for Tyrin Johnson

To: Sen. Warren, Sen. Markey, Rep. McGovern

From: A constituent in Northampton, MA

July 7

Hi, I’m a constituent writing from 01373. First, I understand that the president wants Congress to pass $350 billion more in funding for the Pentagon via a reconciliation bill. He also wants to use that bill to enact the SAVE America Act. So many Americans are having trouble affording basics, like gas and groceries. We do not support more funding for war we never wanted to begin with. We want affordable and accessible healthcare. We want help with our utility bills. Please vote no. Also, I am deeply disturbed that two National Guard members have shot and killed a young Black man in Memphis. We need a transparent investigation into this shooting, and Trump’s so-called “crime-fighting task force” must be disbanded. The National Guard should not be doing everyday law enforcement! Please make a statement calling for this task force’s disbandment.
