I am writing today to ask you to vote NO on the continuing resolution being proposed by Republicans. Despite being billed as a "clean CR", it is not actually that -- it allocates money for a bunch of Republican priorities. And even though it doesn't lock in the cuts Musk and his cronies are making right now, it doesn't do anything to stop them either. So then the question becomes, if you are firing half of the VA, the SSA, and other essential agencies but not cutting their budget, where is that money going? I have no doubt that Trump and his kleptocratic administration will try to use this to plunder our Treasury further. Meanwhile, signing on to this resolution throws away the only serious bargaining chip Democrats have right now, and the Republicans know it. Momentum is building behind resistance to Trump and Musk, and more people are becoming aware of what these cuts actually mean. Now is your chance to hold the line and use that to get word out even further about what these cuts mean for millions of Americans. I urge you, please, do not pass this CR -- we need all the leverage we can get if we're to stop this pillaging of our federal government.
