1,000+ Law Professors Declare Trump Constitutional Crisis - Demand Impeachment

As your constituent, I urge you to immediately begin impeachment proceedings against President Trump for his repeated and flagrant constitutional violations.
The case against President Trump is clear. His unauthorized bombing of Iran on June 21, 2025, violated the Constitution’s war powers clause—even sparking concerns among Republican colleagues about its legality. He has defied federal and Supreme Court orders, erasing essential constitutional checks on executive power. His use of emergency authorities to bypass Congress represents the tyranny the Framers sought to prevent through impeachment.
This is not a matter of partisan politics. Over 1,000 law professors have declared a constitutional crisis. In a survey, 34 of 35 legal scholars described Trump as a “lawless authoritarian.” Leading Harvard experts have labeled his actions the greatest threat to the rule of law since the Civil War.
The Constitution compels Congress to act in the face of such systemic violations. Failing to hold President Trump accountable threatens the separation of powers and sets a dangerous precedent that weakens our democratic institutions. Each day inaction persists, constitutional violations become further normalized.
I urge you to uphold your duty and support impeachment proceedings. The evidence clearly meets the "high crimes and misdemeanors" threshold laid out by the Framers and legal precedent. Our democracy relies on elected officials willing to defend the Constitution against all threats, foreign and domestic.
Now is the time to act. History will judge your response. I look forward to your leadership in protecting America’s democracy.
