The reported efforts to weaponize federal law enforcement and engage in political persecution of duly elected representatives are extremely concerning from a democratic standpoint. Tracking down lawmakers for pursuing legitimate legislative tactics sets a dangerous precedent and undermines the integrity of our institutions. This authoritarian overreach has no place in a society that values freedom of speech and the democratic process. We must vehemently oppose such blatant attempts to rig elections and silence political opposition through intimidation tactics. Upholding the rule of law and safeguarding civil liberties should be priorities for all public servants. Responsible leadership demands an immediate course correction to restore faith in our system of government.
