Please do *something* to stop Musk's and Trump's executive overreach

To: Sen. Cantwell, Rep. Jayapal, Sen. Murray

From: A verified voter in Shoreline, WA

February 2

I am deeply disturbed by what is happening under the new administration, particularly the firing of Inspectors' General and FBI officials apparently without regard for due process; Elon Musk's subordinates gaining control of extremely sensitive systems at the Department of the Treasury; and Elon Musk's subordinates gaining control of General Services Administration resources; among the litany of new outrageous things we learn each day. I am further disturbed the seemingly muted response by Congress to all of this. Senator Wyden is pressing the Treasury Secretary on Musk's access to the treasury payment system, which I'm glad to see - but Congress needs to be doing so much more to protect Americans from the wild overreaches of Trump and Musk. Given all of that, I am outright appalled by Senator Klobuchar's statements about finding 'common ground' right now. Traditionally non-partisan offices are under hostile takeover by Musk and a radical regime following a fascist playbook - there cannot be any common ground with that. I know democrats are in the minority, but please do *something*. Congress has a duty to check the President's power; please do so. If you can do nothing else, please object in the strongest of terms to all of this, and make your voices heard wherever you can.
