Oppose anti-Christian bias task force, uphold religious freedom

To: Sen. Warren, Sen. Markey, Rep. Lynch

From: A constituent in Jamaica Plain, MA

February 8

I implore my representatives to resist the establishment of Trump's proposed "anti-Christian bias" task force. This religious task force within the federal government raises significant concerns about violating the constitutional separation of church and state. Rather than protecting religious liberty, such a commission focused solely on Christianity promotes preferential treatment for one faith over others. This goes against our nation's founding principles of religious freedom and risks discriminating against non-Christian citizens. I urge you to uphold the First Amendment's guarantee of no religious test for public office and oppose any efforts to improperly entangle the government with the endorsement of a specific religion. Our diversity of beliefs is a strength, and all faiths and non-religious individuals should be treated equally under the law without favor or bias.
