Congressional oversight needed on fentanyl crisis data transparency

To: Sen. Ernst, Pres. Trump, Sen. Grassley, Rep. Feenstra

The Attorney General's claims about lives saved through fentanyl seizures are highly misleading and questionable. Based on the reporting, the math used to arrive at figures like 258 million lives saved defies basic logic and reality. Such inflated, unsupported numbers erode public trust and transparency. An independent congressional inquiry should scrutinize the administration's dubious data and statistics surrounding the fentanyl crisis. The American people deserve facts and accountability, not political spin. Rigorous oversight is warranted to get to the truth and ensure anti-drug efforts rely on sound evidence and policies that genuinely protect lives.
