Hegseth needs to be impeached, and a Democratic-controlled Congress should make it a first-week priority in January 2027. His creation of an "Office of Religious Affairs" inside the Pentagon is a direct violation of the First Amendment, which opens with the words "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion." That's not a gray area. That's the law.
This isn't just about one bad speech at Quantico. Hegseth has spent a year firing generals and blocking promotions — targeting female and Black officers he deems too "woke" — while handing a weapons panel seat to Palmer Luckey, whose firm Anduril has received nearly $25 billion in Pentagon contracts and in whom Don Jr. holds a personal financial stake. The corruption and the constitutional violations are happening in plain sight. Congress has the power to act. Use it.
