Amend the Constitution

To: Sen. Slotkin, Rep. Huizenga, Sen. Peters

From: A constituent in Battle Creek, MI

January 5

We need our congressional members to protect and seek to amend the constitution as was the intent of the framers of this document. Our constitution is living document that needs to be amended and kept up to preserve the will of the people. 1. Amend to not allow the Supreme Court to rule in such a way that it destroys the checks and balances that are the hallmark of our democracy. This should void the decision that a sitting president is immune to any wrongdoing. 2. Amend to support freedom to choose what healthcare is best for you. This should allow for abortion rights and medical help for those seeking to align their bodies to their sexual orientation. 3. Amend to support the right to vote that includes all of the points in the For the People Act. This should do away with big money in elections, gerrymandering and everything else that was written into that act. 4. Amend to abolish the electoral college. President should be elected by popular vote. Every individual’s vote is equal to one vote. We need to keep our constitution alive and protecting our rights. We need these amendments to protect our rights and our say in how we are to be governed.
