Stop Trump's overreach of power and disregard of checks and balances. The president is explicitly forbidden from cutting off spending for programs that Congress has approved. The U.S. Constitution grants Congress the power to appropriate money and requires the executive to pay it out. The Impoundment Control Act makes that explicit by prohibiting the president from halting payments on grants or other programs approved by Congress. Do your job and stand up for the American people and the people of the state you were elected to represent. Need I remind you that over 30% of Alabama's budget comes directly from the very programs the president is trying to halt?
