Reject harmful cuts to federal worker benefits and pensions

The Republican plan to cut federal worker retirement benefits to fund tax cuts for the wealthy is misguided and harmful. Federal employees have dedicated their careers to public service and should not have their hard-earned benefits slashed to provide tax breaks to the ultra-rich and corporations. Increasing pension contributions for new hires to an excessive 9.4%, eliminating supplements for early retirees, and reducing annuity calculations will make it even harder to recruit and retain a talented federal workforce. Instead of undermining civil servants, Congress should focus on raising revenue through fair taxation of the wealthiest individuals and closing corporate tax loopholes. I urge you to reject any proposals that diminish federal worker compensation and benefits in order to protect vital public services.
