i’m writing because i want to be sure my representatives in the senate will protect the rights and values i think are most crucial to a better and safer future. i fear the harm president trump may inflict even in a state like new york. i fear for my fellow women, other new yorkers who may need abortions, the LGBTQ community, immigrants to new york who have never and will never commit crimes, new yorkers who struggle to afford housing, new yorkers who need access to healthcare, my fellow new yorkers with disabilities, and educators and their students here in new york state. i’m urging you to not let an unhinged and ignorant person like trump and his acolytes disregard the constitution and our legal and judicial system for their own personal gain and in the name of their bigotry. i want to know i live in a state that prioritizes making it livable and safe for everyone.
