I need you to restore full funding for Summer EBT in HB1835 and SB1911 so children in our community don't go hungry when school is out.
Summer EBT provides $120 per child for groceries during the summer months when kids lose access to school meals. This program works. It puts food directly in the hands of families who need it most, and it costs far less than emergency food assistance or the health consequences of childhood hunger.
Cutting this funding doesn't save money in any meaningful way. It just shifts the burden onto food banks that are already stretched thin and onto parents who are already struggling with grocery costs. Kids can't learn, play, or thrive when they're hungry. Summer EBT is one of the simplest, most effective tools we have to prevent that.
Restore the funding in HB1835 and SB1911. These are our neighbors' kids.
