SAFE Act - NO!

To: Sen. Durbin, Rep. Casten, Sen. Duckworth

From: A constituent in Wheaton, IL

April 11

The SAFE Act is a discriminatory bill. Thank you Rep Casten for voting no. Senators Durbin and Duckworth, please follow suit and vote no when this comes to the Senate. It burdens married women and those who cannot access those documents easily. Requiring many women to pay for marriage certificates and name change documentation. Heck even our VP would have to get several documents as he changed his name more than once. A passport is ok for many, but for those who don’t have one, we have now created a poll tax. Please stop this - I’m for fair and secure elections including ensuring that only those who are eligible get to vote. I’m against trying so hard that we move the needle and make it so only the rich and powerful get to vote. Stand up for the citizens of the United States of America.
