Congratulations!!!!! That's a hell of a day we had yesterday and I am thrilled to be writing today with my concerns that your team now has so much more power to address! We expect a lot from this turn in power. There is so much to address but I know you are leading the effort because I've seen Oregon fighting all along. So here is the list I wrote on face book last night including the additions some friends suggested. Climate action funding - Women's health research getting funded again and all the other medical research - Shutting down homeland security - Caring for and resourcing those impacted by ice raids and detentions - Bring folks back home who were sent to prisons and camps in other countries - Protect bodily autonomy of all genders - Improve funding for community mental health services and access to those services. - Universal Health Care - Stop the sales of public lands - Expand the supreme court - Make US territories states especially Puerto Rico - Protect trans rights - Fund public education - Build back federal offices even better (so many sub categories to this one. US AID for one.) - End funding to Israel and calling the genocide in Palestine what it is. - Expedite the building of high speed rail. - Prosecute everyone, and I mean everyone, that has committed crimes in service to trumps administration and project 2025. - Resurrect the EPA and the clean air and water acts - so the war on Iran - Get rid of the anti dei banned word list that includes words like, women, black, and climate. - election finance reform - supreme court term limits - support states in the national popular vote compact. (There may be enough democratic state legislatures to make this happen!?) - tax the billionaires. - tell us how we can help, not just what you think we want to hear. Again, thank you for all the work you've done to get us to this day! It's amazing. And know WE can not wait to get started on this work. The people are with you and we're getting this done together.
