Shameful Complicity in Crimes Against Humanity Must End

To: Rep. Gillen

From: A verified voter in Lynbrook, NY

April 12

Your recent response regarding the wrongful detainment of legal permanent resident Mahmoud Khalil is nothing short of disgraceful. To dismiss his actions and protests as “anti-Israel” is not only cowardly, it’s a blatant betrayal of your duty to uphold the rights of all people under the Constitution. Let’s be real: you’ve capitulated to the MAGA/Zio-Nazis for the sake of your political career. We the people—those with eyes, ears, and a moral compass—see through that bullshit, and let it be known: we will not forget, nor will we forgive your role in aiding and abetting crimes against humanity. Your silence and complicity as Palestinians are being slaughtered in a genocide, your refusal to condemn the inhumane and unconstitutional persecution of peaceful protesters, and your pathetic allegiance to a foreign regime over your own constituents make one thing abundantly clear: you do not have the best interests of America or democracy in mind. You’ve chosen the path of spinelessness, of authoritarianism, of aligning yourself with the very ideologies that once brought this world to the brink of collapse. You are following in the footsteps of Russian and Hungarian strongmen who have twisted democracy into autocracy, all while pretending to serve the people. You are no longer serving us—you are serving a foreign power. You are acting like a foreign asset working on behalf of the Israeli state, even if it means selling your soul to the devil himself. And for what? Power? A title? A seat at a bloodstained table? As a descendant of Holocaust survivors and great-grandfathers who fought Nazis, liberated villages, and defended Leningrad during the blockade, I can tell you without hesitation: they are turning in their graves. Your actions are a spit on their memory and the memory of every soul who perished in the Holocaust or died fighting fascism. You stand with modern-day Nazis. You enable them. You’ve become one. You should be ashamed of yourself. But you still have a choice. You can reverse course. You can reject complicity and finally show some courage. If not, know this: you will be voted out. History is watching. The people are watching. And we are growing angrier by the day. If you fail to act now, you will go down in history not as a leader, not as a representative of the people, but as a coward who facilitated death, justified the destruction of lives, and helped bury the last shreds of our Constitution beneath Israeli apartheid and fascist rhetoric. So take a long look in the mirror every morning and ask yourself: do you want to be remembered as someone who enabled genocide, supported unconstitutional repression, and stood with the Nazis? Or do you want to be remembered as someone who, even at the last moment, found the courage to say: enough is enough? Time is running out. History is being written. Choose wisely.
