Pass Legislation to Protect Voting Rights and Rein In Supreme Court Power

To: Sen. Cornyn, Sen. Cruz, Rep. Casar

From: A constituent in Manor, TX

August 24

The Supreme Court just lifted an injunction protecting mail voting for the November midterms, and the chaos Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson warned about is already here. I need you to act publicly and then put it in law: codify protections for mail-in, early, and Election Day voting so no executive order or court ruling can strip them away. Say it out loud, then write it down. That means legislation guaranteeing voters won't face ICE agents or National Guard troops at polling places, regardless of any declared national emergency. It means statutory protections for every legal form of voting, not just court orders that can be overturned in a weekend. And it means real Supreme Court reform, including term limits. Nine unelected justices with lifetime appointments should not have unchecked power to reshape how 330 million people vote, especially weeks before an election. The states warned the Court that last-minute changes would "disenfranchise voters." They were right. Stop waiting for the courts to fix this. Pass the law.
