Senate Reconciliation: Reject Dept. of Education Dismantling
To: Sen. Tuberville, Sen. Britt
From: A constituent in Birmingham, AL
June 22
Hello, I'm writing to you today to ask you to reject the measure in the Senate budget consideration granting the president the power to dismantle the Department of Education at will. Overseeing of our departments is the responsibility of Congress and choosing to say "the system is broken, but will take too long to fix" not only sets a dangerous precedent but shirks responsibility from the folks we entrust with our votes at the expense of our children. It also paints the picture of a party that can't succeed fairly and is willing to break toys that they can't play with. We are better than this, and we can do good without stripping Congress of it's powers.
