I’m writing to urge you to actively oppose Jay Clayton’s nomination to serve as Director of National Intelligence.
I am particularly alarmed by the reality that this appears to be an attempt to swap one loyalist for another at the helm of the American intelligence apparatus. This administration continues to show they are willing to abuse US intelligence information through their most recent executive orders (https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/defending-women-from-gender-ideology-extremism-and-restoring-biological-truth-to-the-federal-government/) and national security presidential memoranda (https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/09/countering-domestic-terrorism-and-organized-political-violence/). Clayton’s lack of experience and loyalty to the President should be dis
qualifying.
Notably, it appears that Clayton also has alleged
personal financial ties (https://www.levernews.com/the-wall-street-prosecutor-with-a-portfolio-problem/)
to both Venezuela and Epstein - issues he has conveniently been selected to work on. This is unacceptable.
I urge you to forcefully oppose this nomination to protect our privacy and civil liberties.
