I want to share my personal viewpoint on federal funding for ICE. I am deeply troubled by the recent shooting death of Renee Nicole Good, a 37‑year‑old mother of three fatally shot by an ICE agent in Minneapolis. Her death highlights serious concerns about the use of force, accountability, and oversight. I am particularly concerned about the lack of congressional oversight of ICE, which allows actions like this to occur without meaningful review or accountability. Continued funding for ICE in its current form is inconsistent with my values of human dignity and justice. I support efforts to reevaluate how immigration enforcement is carried out and to invest in systems that protect human rights and community safety. Thank you for listening to my perspective.
