Vote Yes on Jasmine Crockett's Anti-Lynching Bill

To: Sen. Cruz, Sen. Cornyn, Rep. Casar

From: A constituent in Manor, TX

September 12

Vote yes on Jasmine Crockett's anti-lynching bill. The fact that Congress needs legislation to prosecute racially motivated killings disguised as suicides is a damning reflection of how deeply systemic white supremacist racism has embedded itself into our institutions. Black people do not hang themselves in trees across the country simultaneously. These are murders, and everyone knows it. Refusing to pass this bill is choosing to protect perpetrators over victims. Hate crimes require federal tools to prosecute, especially when local law enforcement has historically failed Black communities. Rep. Crockett's bill exists because that failure is ongoing. Pass it.
