The rights and wellbeing of transgender individuals are being severely threatened by the recent executive orders from the Trump administration. These actions, including banning gender-affirming care for those under 19 and ordering a politicized "review" of medical standards for trans healthcare, put lives at risk. Transgender youth have already faced immense challenges, and access to appropriate medical care is crucial for their health and survival. Reputable medical organizations universally agree that gender-affirming care is medically necessary and lifesaving. We cannot allow this administration to erase an entire marginalized community in this manner. I urge you to take immediate action to protect the rights and access to essential care for transgender Americans of all ages. Their lives and existence are not up for political debate.
