An Open Letter

To: Sen. Blackburn, Sen. Hagerty

From: A constituent in Memphis, TN

January 19

Is Congress going to do anything to defend the constitution and the people? Americans don't want Greenland. We don't want Venezuela. We don't want to destroy NATO. We don't want to depend on Russia for security and trade as if we lost the Cold War. We do not want federal agencies and armies invading our states and cities. We want affordable housing, healthcare, utilities and childcare. We want freedom of speech and freedom of assembly. We want economic and physical security in the world. We want our elected representatives to represent us sometimes and not just the billionaires at all times. You've all, Schumer and company included, sat impotent on your thumbs for a year. Do your jobs. You control war powers. You control the purse. If you don't right this ship, you're gonna be right beside us when it sinks. It wont matter much that you had first class tickets and the rest of us were in steerage. If it sinks, we're all on the same boat.
