The planet is warming.

To: Sen. Markey, Rep. Clark, Sen. Warren

From: A constituent in Watertown, MA

April 21

This bill aims to nullify the Presidential memoranda withdrawing certain areas of the outer Continental Shelf from oil and gas leasing. However, pursuing further oil and gas exploration and extraction is misguided and harmful to our environment. We have enough fossil fuel reserves and must instead invest in renewable energy sources to combat climate change and protect our planet for future generations. Nullifying these memoranda would exacerbate environmental degradation and greenhouse gas emissions. I urge you to vote against this bill and prioritize sustainable energy policies that safeguard our communities and ecosystems. The cost of inaction on climate is far too high. We need bold legislation that transitions us away from fossil fuel dependence.
