Stopping the production of CSAM shouldn't come at the expense of privacy and First and Fourth Amendment rights. No one in opposition of STOP CSAM is advocating for children's safety to be sacrificed. We are arguing for better less intrusive methods of stopping crime and protecting kids that don't involve wide dragnets. As a constituent, I am opposed to flawed proposals such as STOP CSAM, KOSA, IODA and the SCREEN act. FESTA and SOSTA were already passed to allegedly stop child exploitation, yet duty-of-care laws have not stopped ongoing trafficking online or offline. If change is going to happen then free speech organizations, prosecutors, lawyers, and experts in law and online safety need to be consulted with regards to bills like these, not groups with an axe to grind against the Internet for being poor parents.
