I urge you to make a public statement against Nancy Mace’s discriminatory bill restricting transgender individuals' access to public restrooms aligned with their gender identity. It promotes prejudice and violates basic human rights to equal treatment and dignity. Transgender people face disturbingly high rates of harassment and violence, which such legislation would only exacerbate. We must protect vulnerable communities, not enable further marginalization and harm through legalized discrimination. I implore you to uphold equality and reject this unjust, unethical bill that undermines American values of inclusion and justice for all. This is a matter of dignity and safety. I believe Mace is fundraising vociferously off her bill, but the sad truth is this is a moment where it’s necessary to loudly resist such shows of hate.
