I’m writing to thank you for your courage during this frightening time and to urge you to continue standing firm in defense of our Constitution and the rule of law. This week, President Trump publicly attacked several veterans serving in Congress, calling them “traitors” and demanding they be “arrested… tried,” and even suggesting their actions were “punishable by death.” Their only “offense” was reminding active-duty service members of their legal obligation to refuse unlawful orders — a basic principle of military justice. Threatening lawmakers, especially veterans fulfilling their constitutional duties, is an abuse of power. It undermines civilian control of the military, destabilizes the chain of command, and endangers the very people who serve our country. I’m grateful you are holding the line. Please continue to defend our democratic institutions. And please consider every tool available — including impeachment — to protect Congress, the military, and the Constitution from these escalating threats. Thank you for your service, strength, and leadership.
