Congress must act for America and stop the president

**Oppose Unconstitutional Military Action and Regime Change in Venezuela** I am writing to urge you to take immediate action to oppose the administration's unconstitutional military intervention in Venezuela and any attempts at regime change without congressional authorization. The current situation in Venezuela represents a dangerous precedent where the United States has effectively kidnapped the president of a sovereign nation without a declaration of war or legitimate legal justification. While the administration claims concerns about drug trafficking and democratic legitimacy, the reality is that Venezuela possesses the world's largest oil reserves, and this intervention is fundamentally about economic interests rather than humanitarian concerns. This action violates international law and undermines America's standing in the world. When powerful nations exploit weaker ones for resources, they create coalitions of smaller nations that will inevitably unite against such aggression and seek protection from competing superpowers like China. We are planting the seeds of our own geopolitical isolation. Congress has the constitutional authority to check executive overreach in foreign policy. The precedent being set is extraordinarily dangerous: that it is acceptable to remove another nation's leader simply because they threaten our economic interests, without being at war or under attack. How might other nations apply this same logic to American leaders in the future? I ask you to publicly oppose this intervention, demand that any military action receive congressional authorization as required by the Constitution, and work to restore America's commitment to international law and diplomatic solutions. Our service members should not be asked to fight for unjust causes that serve corporate interests rather than legitimate national security needs. The stability of our democracy and our standing in the world depend on Congress reasserting its constitutional role as a check on executive power in matters of war and foreign intervention.
