I am writing to urge you to protect congressionally approved funding for biomedical research and the experienced federal scientific workforce. The recent federal agency communication restrictions and threatened freezes have left neuroscientists like me who receive funding through federal grants deeply concerned about whether our vital work will continue. Reliable funding allows researchers like me to plan long-term studies, develop technologies, and engage in groundbreaking science without disruption. Without these, medical progress will be severely hampered, and the development of groundbreaking diagnostics and therapies in neuroscience that could benefit all Americans will be delayed or outright halted.
