Pete Hegseth should be immediately withdrawn as the nominee for Secretary of Defense. The disturbing allegations of misconduct, including sexual assault, alcohol abuse at work events, and mistreatment of women, raise serious concerns about his ability to lead the military with integrity and professionalism. His background and behavior demonstrate a pattern unbecoming of the leader of our Armed Forces. Hegseth is also not qualified for the position as he was never a high-ranking officer and had shown weak support for programs that benefit veterans. The Pentagon deserves a nominee of unimpeachable character who can ensure a safe and respectful environment for all service members, especially women. Hegseth's nomination puts our military's reputation and the wellbeing of our troops at risk. For the good of our national security and upholding the military's values, Hegseth must not be confirmed.
