Dear Mr President and members of Congress, I am writing to urge you to prioritize legislation (above all else) that separates the parts of DHS that are not border control or ICE. Pass legislation to fund TSA, FEMA, Coast Guard and such entities so they will be paid and return to work. After three weeks of unpaid work, employees are forced to seek a second job to feed and care for their families. As a result, flight cancellations, delays and increasingly longer lines are growing in frequency. If this is left as it stands, it will result in negative economic impact to the industry and the country, and drive TSA employees away. What worries me even more is growing need for TSA and the Coast Guard to strengthen security in the face of increased risk to the US as stated by the President from outside forces wanting to harm Americans. We also are going into Spring and severe weather months. FEMA must be funded to support US citizens when they are in need. Please take action immediately to fund these critical services. By separating out Border control and ICE for funding, those ares can have more time. TSA, FEMA and the Coast Guard must be funded immediately. Thank you.
