I need you to vote against confirming any anti-transgender nominee for Surgeon General. The nation's top doctor must be guided by science and committed to protecting the health of all Americans, including transgender people. Nominees who have spread misinformation about gender-affirming care or called transgender identity a "fad" are disqualified from this role. The Surgeon General platform carries enormous weight. A report or advisory casting doubt on evidence-based care would be weaponized by state legislatures drafting bans, courts weighing their constitutionality, hospitals shutting down programs, and insurance companies denying coverage. Transgender Americans deserve a Surgeon General who understands the medical consensus and will defend their access to care, not someone who will use the office to undermine it.
