I'm writing to ask you to oppose KOSA, IODA, the SCREEN Act, BlockBEARD, KOSMA, and other bills that weaken free speech rights and privacy While doing nothing to protect children. Laws like these make data breaches and exploitation easier, and minors and their families are the victims who get hit the hardest when their identities and personal information are stolen and sold to criminal organizations that don't follow laws based in the EU and the US. I warned the Supreme Court in previous correspondence that age verification laws do nothing to stop grooming or CSAM from being produced and that groomers often frequent child-friendly spots online, not sites that host adult content. The ROBLOX situation is proof that my warnings were correct. This, along with the leaks created by the Tea app, should be enough proof that age verification laws and book bans are not protecting the victims of the ROBLOX grooming situation. Changing the definition of Obscenity, banning adult works, and forcing facial scans and ID checks will only continue to provide 'hunting grounds' for predators. By making the Internet more cumbersome for adult content creators and producers, these laws and bills have made a predator-friendly cyberspace full of leakers and groomers. SESTA and FOSTA have been a massive failure in protecting sex workers and children from exploitation and trafficking. These cannot be allowed to pass, for the sake of families everywhere, or else every child-friendly space will be overrun with groomers and predators.
