Oppose trump’s budget, cutting too much for everyday people

To: Sen. McCormick, Sen. Fetterman, Rep. Dean, Pres. Trump

President Trump's proposed $163 billion budget cut raises serious concerns about its adverse impact on vital services that support the well-being of everyday Americans. The budget blueprint seeks a staggering 23% reduction in non-defense discretionary spending, which would result in detrimental cuts to education, housing, medical research, and other essential programs. Slashing funding for the Internal Revenue Service by over $2 billion could hamper tax collection efforts, ultimately adding to the deficit. Furthermore, the proposed cuts to agencies like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institutes of Health jeopardize public health initiatives and scientific advancements that benefit society. While bolstering border security and defense spending are priorities, such severe austerity measures disproportionately burden working families and undermine the services they rely on. A budget that prioritizes people over profits and invests in the foundations of a thriving nation is crucial. I urge you to carefully scrutinize these proposed cuts and advocate for responsible funding levels that uplift all citizens.
