Reject project 2025 authoritarian agenda, defend American democracy

To: Sen. Vance, Sen. Brown, Rep. Carey, Pres. Biden

From: A verified voter in Columbus, OH

July 3

The far-right's Project 2025 agenda represents an assault on democratic principles and the system of checks and balances enshrined in the Constitution. This authoritarian playbook seeks to concentrate power in the presidency, dismantle key institutions, and undermine the rights and well-being of the American people. It is a direct threat to our republic and must be resolutely opposed. The unconstitutional proposals put forth in Project 2025 are sweeping and draconian, touching nearly every facet of American life from reproductive rights and health care access to education and environmental protections. Stripping away hard-won civil liberties and safeguards is antithetical to the values upon which this nation was founded. Urgent action is needed to defend our democracy from this extremist agenda. Election deniers and those enabling this undemocratic power grab must be held accountable through legal channels and at the ballot box. Furthermore, any attempts to improperly influence or pack the Supreme Court with ideologues committed to dismantling our system of government cannot be tolerated. We call on you to use every power vested in your office to condemn Project 2025, protect the integrity of our elections and institutions, and uphold the Constitution against this authoritarian onslaught. The future of our republic hinges on an unwavering commitment to democratic principles in the face of this concerted attack on freedom and self-governance. The American people are counting on bold leadership to safeguard our precious democracy. *  *  *
