Investigate DOGE's misuse of SSA data for disinformation

To: Sen. Cruz, Sen. Cornyn, Rep. Casar

From: A verified voter in Kyle, TX

April 11

I am writing to express grave concerns about the concerning revelations that individuals associated with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) have apparently improperly accessed sensitive Social Security Administration (SSA) data systems and misused that information to spread dubious claims about noncitizen voting. According to reports, DOGE staffer Antonio Gracias has been pushing unfounded allegations that millions of noncitizens voted illegally, seemingly based on accessing SSA data in potential violation of a court order restricting DOGE access. Allowing partisan political operatives like DOGE to improperly obtain and abuse private government data for spreading disinformation erodes public trust and undermines our democratic institutions. DOGE's actions appear to violate data privacy laws and represent a disturbing overreach that must be immediately investigated and halted. I urge you to take decisive action to protect the integrity of government data systems, ensure accountability for any violations, and prevent further misuse of Americans' personal information for misleading political purposes that threaten election security. Strict oversight and enforcement of data access rules is critical to safeguarding our democracy.
