Vote no on Amendments 255 and 256 from the NDAA. These provisions strip TRICARE coverage for gender-affirming care from transgender servicemembers and their families, and ban transgender girls from sports in military-operated K-12 schools. This was never about protecting children. It's about punishing the families of people who volunteered to serve.
The five Democrats who voted for these measures also voted against codifying Trump's military ban — meaning they accept that transgender people can serve, then turned around and voted to deny them and their kids basic care and dignity. Kara Corcoran of SPARTA Pride called these amendments "an attack on evidence-based care across military treatment facilities." The Senate has rejected anti-trans NDAA provisions before. Do it again. Military families have already sacrificed enough — they don't deserve to be used as props for political theater.
