While normally I write about issues concerning the country writ large, today I want to write about a party issue. I've been a Democrat all my life but I've been getting less and less enthusiastic. cope with the fast paced It's not that I am veering more right, but that the party is holding onto outdated and ineffectual concepts and is simply unable to thing. The fact that we look away from genocide, something that should be unthinkable, is wild. I mean, hell, why isn't the core of the Dem platform simply Universal Healthcare and lower taxes for working families? privacy and agency toxic that even the fascists distanced themselves from it in the last election cycle, but contains so much *bad policy* that reduces that I originally thought it was a Republican concept?
Anyhow, I'm still voting D for now because the alternative is so much worse, keeps on growing, but that's not "voter enthusiasm", that's a reluctant necessity. Dissatisfaction with the party has always been high, but somehow it and that sure as hell is not how you win elections and get things done.
