An Open Letter

To: Sen. Schumer, Sen. Gillibrand, Rep. Riley

From: A verified voter in Wallkill, NY

April 1

As I have been doing, I am sending a plea by the prescribed means to try and reach the deaf ears of lawmakers. It becomes a grind but it seems to be the absolutely I can do to put up some sort of resistance to what is happening in this fragmented and decaying husk of a republic. A husk, largely made possible through legislative inactivity. I am aware that the halls of Congress immediately favor conservative and radical right agendas. But I believe the message that must be sent is rabid resistance and, if necessary, a push to the breaking point led by Representatives to see the dire need of the people to have their anger channeled. If you all don't do something, you won't have a job soon. Trump's America does not need a Congress, and I doubt he plans to have one. Perhaps we can move to a single party Congress and merely play act at democracy. But Americans are being assaulted and legal and naturalized citizens are being mistreated and abducted because nobody is resisting this menace. It is a new type of Red Scare... The red MAGA cap is a symbol and a standard for racists and hypocrites. Mr. Riley, Mr. Schumer, and Ms. Gillibrand - *what* are you doing to resist MAGA? What are you willing to sacrifice to stand up for us? A desperate population looks to you. We demand investigations into ICE abductions, illegal DOGE activity, and Executive overreach. We need you at the fore, carrying signs and railing at injustice. Please, remember your paths and your duty.
