Isn’t it time to retire this insane antiquated practice? I have a bipartisan issue that that would boost approval ratings across all parties.
Abolish daylight savings time! The bi annual time change is disruptive, unhealthy, and unnecessary. It is proven that changing the clocks disrupts our natural circadian rhythms and causes health issues including a rise in heart attacks and strokes. In the depth of summer it is light until nearly 10pm and darker longer in the mornings which is additionally disruptive. In the winter the days are unnecessarily short and natural shifts are exacerbated by the time jump.
Voters are overwhelmingly in support of doing away with the time change including passing a ballot measure in my home state or Oregon but it has been hung up in bureaucratic channels for years. Listen to the people and pass this change nationally! There is much debate about whether we should stay on standard time or daylight savings time. Time is made up, we can shift the clocks 30 mins in each direction and compromise.
I know we have bigger issues to tackle as a state and country but I think this could be a big win for the American people and a very popular move to stand behind.
