Importing beef will undercut US farmers. Trump is enacting agricultural policy that undermines our food independence, agricultural economy, and food safety. Not only does this run counter to his claimed protectionist trade policy but it is only necessary because his tariffs exacerbated existing economic pressures on beef farmers. Trump is destroying our family farms. Trump is destroying our food independence. Trump wants to import beef rejected by China, in a desperate attempt to mitigate his own self-destructive policies and behavior. Speak up. Push back. You represent Michigan's farmers and Michigan's economic interests and the safety of food on Michigan tables. You don't represent Argentinian cattle oligarchs or the handful of American billionaires keeping them afloat. Save OUR farmers, not Argentina's.
