The federal legislation to ban transgender individuals from participating in sports is discriminatory and harmful. This sweeping policy, if enacted, would deny transgender people the legal recognition of their gender identity across various aspects of life. Rather than promoting fairness, it perpetuates stigma and exclusion against a vulnerable community. Transgender athletes should be afforded the same opportunities as others to compete in accordance with their gender identity.
