We Must End Gun Violence

To: Sen. Cornyn, Rep. Carter, Sen. Cruz, Pres. Biden

From: A constituent in Leander, TX

December 19

Based on the tragic shooting incident in Towson, Baltimore County, it is evident that stronger gun control measures are urgently needed to prevent such devastating acts of violence. The mass shooting left one person dead and nine others injured, including minors as young as 14 and 15 years old. This senseless loss of life and trauma inflicted on the community is unacceptable. While the investigation continues to determine the circumstances surrounding this incident, it underscores the pressing need for comprehensive gun reform to keep firearms out of the wrong hands. Implementing universal background checks, banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and enacting red flag laws could help prevent future mass shootings and save countless lives. I urge you to take decisive action and prioritize the safety of our communities by supporting common-sense gun control legislation. We cannot continue to allow such horrific acts of violence to occur. The time to act is now, before more innocent lives are lost to gun violence. Our citizens deserve to feel secure, and it is your duty as our elected representative to protect them through substantive policy changes.
