Daylight savings time is a subject of debate every year and yet amidst all the arguments only bad proposals get made, like the Sunshine Protection Act. While it might seem like a good idea in the short run, the long run would produce disastrous effects every fall and winter. There would be more car crashes, more heart attacks, less sleep. Making DST permanent failed in the past. Here are better solutions:
-Make the following Monday a holiday/day off. This will give families more time to adjust to the change. If needed, make the following Tuesday an 'adjustment period' also.
-Change the clocks on a Friday evening or night. Or on Saturday morning. This reduces weekday disorientation.
Please consider these options. Stop making DST permanent!
