DELAY the SNAP COST SHIFT
To: Sen. Tuberville
From: A constituent in Hoover, AL
June 24
I'm asking Senator Tuberville to vote to delay the SNAP cost-shift in the Senate farm bill. SNAP helps about 670,000 Alabamians buy groceries, including 300,000 children, and the new cost-shift could hand our state a bill of more than $170 million a year. The Senator voted for that cost-shift last year, and he sits on the Agriculture Committee writing this farm bill, so he's the right person to undo it. A bipartisan group of governors has already asked Congress to delay it. Senator Tuberville helped pass this cost onto Alabama, and now he can help fix it by voting for the delay.
