Our foreign policy is getting beyond nonsensical. We antagonize allies and we cozy up to enemies. As of right now, all our aid to Ukraine is on hold. Europe is stepping up to help, but they cannot do enough because they don’t have the military and the industrial capacity to provide what Ukraine needs urgently. The White House is repeating Russian talking points and has clearly taken a side in what should be a reasonable peace negotiation. Our President and our Vice President engaged in dangerous theater with President Zelensky in the Oval Office making a mockery of our country. When more people die in the Ukraine-Russia conflict, the moral weight will be on those who refused to help, that means the USA. We used to aspire to be a beacon of morality and democracy in the world and we have surrounded that role at our own peril. I urge you to bring common sense into the White House leadership and to avert future disasters in our foreign policy, because that is a way to ensure the security of our country. Your silence means complicity. Your silence means an abdication of the responsibility you have to the nation. Your silence and your support to these dangerous foreign policies means cowardice. Show that you can do better.
