Prioritize filling judicial vacancies to safeguard democratic norms
To: Sen. Casey, Sen. Fetterman
From: A constituent in Reading, PA
November 19
The President and Senate have made important strides in filling federal court vacancies, with 214 judges confirmed since 2021. However, judicial vacancies persist, and we must continue prioritizing the confirmation of judges who uphold democratic values and the rule of law. The federal judiciary plays a crucial role in safeguarding our democratic institutions and rights. It is vital that we have fair, impartial, and highly qualified judges committed to equal justice under the law. I urge swift consideration and confirmation of the remaining highly qualified judicial nominees, especially those who demonstrate a strong commitment to our democratic principles and norms. A robust, independent federal judiciary is essential to maintaining our system of checks and balances and protecting the rights of all Americans.
