Regulate big data centers LB1111
To: Sen. Wordekemper
From: A verified voter in Valley, NE
February 20
Senator I am writing once again because I feel like you are Nebraskan’s best line of defense. I ask you to consider supporting LB1111. Data centers are not what big tech sells them as. AI is not the money maker big tech sells it as. Data centers will suck our water that farmers need and drain the energy that we all need. Nebraska needs to act proactively to establish clear boundaries for tech companies and protect Nebraska land and citizens.
A brief look into data centers and you see communities with much higher energy bills once a data center is operational. You also see communities with less fresh water available. Data centers are a parasite on our natural resources. Nebraska is a beautiful place with ample natural resources so it is only a matter of time before big tech sets its greedy eyes on us. Please support any bill that puts Nebraska legislators and voters in control over placement, taxes, and natural resource usage for big tech.
Thank you for your continued support.
