On June 13, NPR published a story about growing malnutrition among children in Senegal who had previously had much more support through USAID. Children and their families there and in other countries previously assisted by USAID are suffering and hungry. Cuts to SNAP and WIC are increasing the hunger problem in the US as well.
Why are we spending so much money on the President going to see the Knicks, repainting the Reflecting Pool, staging a UFC fight for his birthday, and gilding statues?
These are not just or moral uses of the US’s monetary or influential capital. Restore funding to USAID and SNAP. Stand up for using our federal funds in ways that benefit Americans and our neighbors, not just the President’s ego. Thank you.
